The Art Of The Fairy-Tale  During this year, I have become increasingly  aware(predicate) of the  intake of narrative in  cheat; be it  hide in metaphor, as a surreal or  abstract piece, or obvious and on the surface in the  pretense of    literal text and image. It is something that I identify heavily with as a person and as an artist. The tried and tested example, the paradigm for this, is the Folk-Tale, or Fairy-Tale.    Grimms Fairy Tales as they are known today, is perhaps the   rive known collection of folk-tales around. The brothers Jacob(1785-1863) and Wilhelm(1786-1859) Grimm came into the world during a  curiously  authorised period of German History. T   he country, in response to the  french   transition of 1789, was developing a new sympathy for the Middle Ages, which had antecedently been seen as barbaric. The unrest in the country, especially prevalent during the  french Invasions under Napoleon (1806-14) ushered forth a yearning for   unconquerable cultural identity among the German people. This period of German  love affair became the dominant  transaction in art, literature and  stopping point of  communicatory countries through the late 18th and early nineteenth centuries.    This movement saw renewed interest in folk-culture and in  hitch; the folk-tale, folk-song and folk-art. By the time the Grimm brothers were at university studying  faithfulness in the early 1800s, the movement was gathering momentum. A particularly  powerful professor to the brothers, Friedrich von Savigny, a historian and jurist (the  similar  profession as their late father), is said to have  wake  at heart them an interest in the past.
